Working with our partners the Kaska First Nations, JDS Silver has signed a Social Economic Participation Agreement (“SEPA”) for the life of the Silvertip Mine. This agreement was reached shortly after JDS Silver took ownership of the project.  The SEPA is a mutually beneficial agreement for both parties and has been extremely successful in building capacity in the First Nation’s community.

JDS Silver continues to work closely with the development corporations of the Kaska communities to ensure that they receive maximum benefits through employment and service agreements.

The Company provides scholarships for First Nation’s students, and has committed land disturbance payments to affected Kaska Community.
